OT-ISAC Digital Series: Maritime Control System Cybersecurity
As Maritime Industry continues to embrace digitalization and develop Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), onboard vessels are being networked together, becoming more complex heightening threat level.
The Global Positioning System (GPS) and Electronic Chart Display and Information System are particularly vulnerable systems, one can readily imagine that a malicious actor could intentionally manipulate the software-controlled critical systems on a vessel to create economic disruption, cause an environmental catastrophe, or cause a lethal event in a congested port. The motive, opportunity and means to accomplish such mischief presents a clear and present threat - a threat for which few if any countermeasures exist.
Join us in this Panel Discussion with John Lee, OT-ISAC Managing Director sits down with Naveen Selvam, ABS Group Cyber Security Program Manager APAC and Dick Bussiere, Security Technical Director at Tenable to uncover in detail the threat landscape and scenarios, the IMO requirements, and impacted shipboard and shoreside control systems.
It will also discuss policies, procedures and technical solutions that should be deployed with immediate effect by owners and. operators of relevant infrastructures such as IMO registered ships and shoreside facilities.
• What are the threats posing risks to the Maritime ecosystem and describes key cybersecurity incidents that could impact them?
• Understanding the Vulnerabilities, Main Challenges, and best practices to mitigate risk
• How collaboration becomes key ingredient in defence and protection of Maritime Cybersecurity?

A Live Fireside Chat - Ransomware Uncovered: Critical Incidents and Emerging Risk to Operational Technology
John Lee, Managing Director at OT-ISAC sits down with Shafique Dawood, Managing Director APAC at Group-IB in a fire-side chat live stream to discuss some prominent threats facing OT industries that companies should be aware of. What are some recent cases of OT industries getting attacked and why should you be aware of them?
This fireside chat will provide insights on key trends highlighted in Group-IB's Ransomware Uncovered Report: A rise in Ransomware attacks particularly on big game hunting, distribution of Ransomware as a Service by Threat actors and supply chain attacks.
—What are the TTPs involved for such an attack? (MITRE Att&CK mapping)
— What are some impacts on critical sectors?
— How does it apply to you? What are some defensive mechanisms companies can set up to mitigate risks of attacks?
Learn how OT-ISAC Community collaborates with Group-IB in playing a vital role in providing first hand Threat intel to members.
